Why Fear Appears When You’re Stepping Into More

What if fear isn’t a Sign but a Signal! It doesn't come to stop you, but to test whether you know who is with you. Guess what, this happens consistently, for those who pay attention to patterns.
Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
As this year progresses, fear often feels mysterious and powerful. Sometimes it whispers certain questions about the unknown, our ability, and even what might go wrong. But when God spoke to Joshua at the edge of a new season, He never treated fear as a verdict. He handled it as a signal. He specifically told Joshua to be fearless not because he was strong. He was told to be strong because God was with him.
Over and again, God said the same thing in different ways: Be strong. Be courageous. Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Fear didn’t disqualify Joshua from leading; it simply revealed the size, weight and the glory of the calling in front of him. There is a purpose ahead of you to fulfil and it is huge. God is restoring back to Himself this year. He is giving you a new direction. There would be alignment and realignment. It is a year loaded with light. You will shine in darkness and it will be helpless.
However, I believe fear would still show up this year again as at other times. It doesn’t mean that you’re not prepared. It's likely because you’re stepping into something bigger than previous years. God had the option to have removed the battles ahead of Joshua. No! He rather removed the lie that Joshua would face the battles all by himself.
As you journey this year, let fear lose its mystery. This is not a prophecy. It’s not a warning to retreat. It’s rather an invitation to remember the one, who walks with you. The same God who went before Joshua goes before you. He does steadily, faithfully, and without hesitation.
Start your adventures this year the way Joshua did: recognize that the fears are real. However, you're never alone. God is with you; therefore, fear does not stop you! AMEN
Your Brother,
David Kay-Akeremale
