What became of Portiphar and his wife after Joseph was thrown out of work and into prison? The bible is silent on their journey, after this injustice was served on Joseph.

I am also curious that never once did Joseph pray that God should strike her with cancer. Or she should have a fatal accident on the day doctors down tools. She was, afterall, responsible for his crisis at work. What if the couple had lived their normal lives thereafter, enjoyed their wealth and grew up till old age!

Could it be that God is more interested in your career journey and what you eventually become than in keeping track or destroying any man who hate or hurt you on your job!

Wisdom includes the ability to ignore distractions and preserve energy for what truly matters. An American philosopher and psychologist, William James says “The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook.”

This is in line with the thought of the management thinker, Drucker

Joseph felt the pain he encountered in the course of working with the Portiphars, but he would not raise a prayer team against the family. He rather focused on one thing - his journey and faith in God’s plan.

During His visit to the home of Martha and Mary, Jesus taught this same workplace principle. Do not be overly distracted by the mundane things as against focusing on what is most important to your growth.

Luke 10:41–42

“And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

In his book, Good to Great, Jim Collins says “If you have more than three priorities, you do not have any.” Do not allow people or systems that hurt you have a file on the table of your heart. Submit their file to God and move on. You need to manage your priorities and channel your energy into discovering more of you in God’s plan and doing exploit where you are.

Beloved, if you ever find yourself caught up in any workplace crisis, give utmost priority to your journey. Many of the characters involved may just be instruments. Do not overly spend energy on them . Keep your energy on what God is doing in you and through you. Just give yourself time and see God perfect His work. You will get promoted again.
